If you’ve not yet joined the twittering classes then you’re missing out on the latest social networking phenomenon – according to TwitDir, the unofficial Twitter Directory, there are now over 3,000,000 users and the Twitterverse is still growing.
If you’ve used Facebook and their Status Update box then you’re already familiar with the idea. Twitter works in very much the same way, allowing a Twitter user to send a short message (or ‘tweet’) to their audience (or ‘followers’). Unlike Facebook anyone can follow anyone, so it’s rather like a mini-blog – a channel of communication that anyone on the internet can find, and follow.
