The Design Council has uploaded a couple of very interesting expert advice videos.
Part of their excellent [resources section](http://www.designcouncil.org.uk/resources-and-events/) the videos feature interviews with top UK design talent and their advice on starting up a design business and how to deal with client relationships. Mostly relevant to newbie designers but a lot of the advice is relevant to anyone creative thinking of starting up in business.

### How to start a design business

> “I would advise anyone coming out of university not to set up on their own. I think the most important thing that they need to get is to learn how to survive as a business; how to work successfully in a commercial area and how to start to understand strategy but not to lose any of their creative edge.”

### Client Relationships

> “I’m not sure there is such a thing as a perfect client, because people are messy. Just like I don’t think there’s anything that is a perfect consultancy or a perfect agency or a perfect adviser. I guess that in many ways the perfect client is a client who is open minded and also who is ambitious in their thinking.”
