National Freelancers Day 2010 may still be a few months away, but this year’s event already looks set to reflect the growing recognition of flexible-working as an increasingly important part of the UK’s economy.
Last year’s event was the first of its kind and was successful in further promoting the virtues of freelance working. But the PCG has already got some heavyweight backing for the event when it returns on November 23…
The Telegraph Media Group has announced that it will support the main highlight of the day, the inaugural Freelance Lecture, which will see Dr James Bellini, a leading futurologist, outline the role the freelance community should play in the economic future of the UK and how this growing sector can ride the financial downturn and emerge better equipped to face the future.
A roster of business experts will be on hand to further discuss the issues facing freelancers and contractors, and take questions from the audience. This should offer attendees a good opportunity to see how freelancers are set to fair in a still uncertain economy.
PCG’s Managing Director, John Brazier said: “What better way to contribute to National Freelancers Day on 23rd November than to stimulate debate about the future of freelancing and freelancers. It will be exciting to have James Bellini’s vision of what lies before us.
And as for the Telegraph? John Brazier seems to be a fan…
“Telegraph Media Group is at the forefront of the UK’s business community constantly informing, reporting and encouraging Britain PLC to evolve and develop,” he continued. “National surveys conducted amongst our members show the Telegraph titles are the newspapers of choice for many of our members.”
The Freelance Lecture is set to be the most prominent event of the day, but there will be plenty more going on besides. The National Freelancers Day website will have the latest information.
