Freelance News: National Freelancers Day

Author: Michael Rose View Comments Print This Post Print This Post

November 23rd, a date for your diary. Why? Because it is a day of recognition for the contribution that freelancers and contractors make to UK economy, a day to be proud of who you are and what you do. To help mark the day the PCG have launched a dedicated National Freelancers Day website.

National Freelancers Day will highlight three key themes: highlight this flexible, agile and expert community to UK businesses, showing how to engage and work with freelancers effectively; celebrate Freelancing as a valid career choice, highlighting the community and support network; emphasise that to unlock the full potential of freelancing, Government must recognise that freelancers are in business and entitled to clear and fair taxation laws.

John Brazier, MD of PCG said: “On and around November 23rd, PCG is planning on making as much noise as possible to highlight freelancing and freelance issues and visitors to the website will be able to find out more about the various events taking place to celebrate the Day and hear more from freelancers and organisations about the business of freelancing and what it means to them.

“We wanted to establish a special day for all freelancers so that on National Freelancers Day this third way of working is recognised and we can celebrate the talents, achievements and worth of freelancers up and down the country.”

How can I show my support on National Freelancers Day?

Hi there!

Yes something is underway! There's discussion's going on to host an event with the Brighton Farm. We are looking to the PCG to advertise it to all of their members within say a 40 mile radius of our area (Brighton and Hove) and generate a lot of interest for the night.

More to come!
