Small businesses go green

Small businesses are ‘going green’ in a bid to save costs, an expert says. Erica Russell, a sustainable business advisor from Business Link, said many small companies were adopting recycling methods and using low-energy applications in an effort to cut down on costs.

“When switching off your lights could save you between 18 and 20 per cent on your energy bill, for small businesses that’s a pretty big deal,” she says.

A study from Alliance and Leicester commercial bank also found 80 per cent of small firms have already made changes to boost the business’s eco-credentials.

Information on how you can help your small or home business ‘go green’ can be found at businesslink.gov.uk and energysavingtrust.org.uk.

Everyone should go green, for their cashflow and the planet! :) I used to find going green somewhat expensive, but in the long run I’ve noticed it to be surpringsly beneficial money wise.
