A slightly truncated freelancers digest this week to reflect the shorter working week. Hopefully your productivity / output / income weren’t too adversely affected by the long bank holiday, but either way it’s the weekend soon, so pour yourself a coffee and relax.
Here are this weeks links for your Friday reading pleasure. Incidentally, if you spot anything around the web that you think other freelancers would find useful or enjoy, ping us the link on Twitter!
Some hilarious password requirements
A variety of ludicrous and wrong-headed password requirements, mostly, it should be noted, from financial institutions. Our personal favourite – “Passcodes cannot contain a Q or a Z.”
Recruiters behaving badly
Recruiters sometimes lack morals – stop the presses, right? The Kernel have done a lengthy investigative piece into the worst practises of tech recruiters and have named and shamed the worst. Worth a read if only to stay on top of the recruitment industry’s latest tricks.
A short video about procrastination
Thanks to Judy Heminsley for the link – a short and enjoyable film about getting stuff done (or not, as the case may be).
Our favourite tweets
I’ve lost track. Is responsive design more dead than native apps, or is it web apps and SEO that are dead this month?

Great thing about freelancing – getting to work on such a variety of projects with different teams. Wouldn’t happen working for an agency.

I was thinking about working from the coffee shop today, but looking at the storm out there, I think my cozy home office will do
