Many of you may already be familiar with Desk Space Genie, the website that helps freelancers find workspace in the UK. It’s a useful site which allows you to easily find a co-working space in your area.
The bad news is: it is no more. The good news is: it’s transformed into Office Genie!
The change means that you can search for a spare desk across more office types, such as serviced offices, sublet offices and leased offices.
A particularly handy new feature allows you to easily see the average cost of a desk in the area, so that as you persuse your potential desk selections, you will know what costs are reasonable for the general location. A price comparison site for desks if you will.
The expansion into Office Genie means that it now lists 250,000 desks and 3,500 offices throughout the UK.
For anyone having trouble finding reasonably priced desk space, or desk space at all(!), this is an essential service. They even give transport details for each location.
If you’re a travelling freelancer whose office needs are more global then Target Offices are also worth a go – though I personally find the Office Genie search system more user-friendly.
